Trouble Shooting  Questions and Answers

What Is The Mercury Messenger? This is an improved method of communicating with members of  The Phoenix System.  When we have an important message we place it in the Mercury Messenger  and INSTANTLY you and your people see a small window appear in the lower right corner of your computer containing the message. Usually we insert a link that takes you immediately to a scheduled webinar, a special movie, a web page with more information, etc.   There is no cost to you, nor will there be in the future

What does this do for you and for your group?  We see it even from E-Mails coming from Vollara; spam filters are identifying any large mailing as spam.  Even if it is to a specific membership group.  This means a high percentage of e-mail notifications are no longer getting through.

How Does It Work? You download a small desktop application (DESKTOP ALERT)  that resides in the system icon-tray on your computer (looks like a little radio antennae) and announces when a message has arrived.  Short messages are displayed right there.  Longer messages contain a CLICK LINK to view the entire message.  For sure, you will never miss another message.  And it does show a history of messages so if your computer was off or you were on vacation you're able to catch up when you have the time.

A SIMPLE SET UP PROCEDURE: (5 Minutes)

• SKILLED COMPUTER USER?  If you are a skilled computer user you will sail through the installation easily...simply drop down to step 1 below.

• NOT SKILLED COMPUTER USER?  If you are not a skilled computer user we have prepared a step by step illustration of the download and set up process.  It is simple.  >>>> Step by Step Instructions

STEP (1)  MERCURY MESSENGER DOWNLOAD:    Click>>>>> Here

STEP (2)  FOLLOW THE PROMPTS..IT'S SIMPLE....  Be sure to save the USERNAME AND PASSWORD that you enter as you'll need them later.

STEP (3) When installation is complete you will find a small Radio Antennae in your ICON TRAY in the lower right corner of your computer.  If you don't see it click on the blue ball with the left arrow in it; it may be hidden.

Right click on the Antennae and you'll see a little more about the system

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

QUESTION:  If I'm not here with my computer turned on will I miss my Alerts?

ANSWER:  No you won't miss anything.  They are stored in sequence on the sending server and are being held until such time as you turn on your computer and log onto the internet.  Then they will appear.

QUESTION:  With E-Mail messages I've been able to save messages.  How do I do that here?

ANSWER:   Every message that is sent out is logged into ALERT MESSAGES for that month. Right Click on the antennae in your tray-bottom right on your computer)  They are being published and saved to that page for your inspection and review, by month, at anytime.

QUESTION:   Sometimes my ALERT MESSAGE stays up on my screen and I can't get it to go away.  What do I do?

ANSWER:  Right click on the Radio Antennae and select close.  It will go away.

Then:  Return to the top of this page and start at STEP (1).

NOTE:  IF YOU HAD INSTALLED THE INSTANT MESSENGER AFTER JUNE 20, 2011 AND NEED TO A REINSTALL,  DO THE FOLLOWING:  (This is required when you have a hard drive crash, formatting of your hard drive, or a new computer)

1. Click on Mercury Messenger in the header area at the http://thephoenixsystem.com

2. Click on Trouble Shooting and do the Re-Install on that page. 

3. Your name, username and e-mail address are already on file and ready for you so if you get a message that the name is already on file..it is...ignore the message.

4. The Re-Install is very quick and simple.
